A pact of Dutch organisations, such as National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, Knowledge centre sports and mobility, Veiligheid.nl, jointly developed the Inspirational Tool Living Environments for Older Adults.

The tool targets every professional who works on urban planning or the health and wellbeing of older adults. The tool invites to open the dialogue with older adults in the municipality about the benefits of the physical living environment for an active and healthy life. The tool focuses on the areas of meeting, physical environment, and social participation to support mobility and independent living. It offers lists of requirements and recommendations for a green, safe, and healthy environment. In Dutch only.

Hands-on SHAFE is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, Key Action 204 Adult Education programme.
